San Jose Woman Killed, Several Injured in Wrong-Way Crash on Highway 17 in Los Gatos

Los Gatos, CA – August 24, 2025 – A 43-year-old woman from San Jose was killed, and three others were hospitalized early Saturday morning after a suspected DUI driver traveled the wrong way on Highway 17 in Los Gatos, authorities reported. The California Highway Patrol San Jose Area Office said the incident began around 12:38 a.m. when a Toyota Camry was spotted traveling southbound in the northbound lanes just south of Santa Cruz Avenue. The vehicle forced another car off the roadway as it attempted to avoid a collision. Shortly after, the Camry was involved in a head-on crash with a Honda Del Sol and then collided with a Honda Civic.

The crash occurred around 7:45 a.m. when a vehicle traveling in the wrong direction collided with multiple cars. Emergency responders arrived quickly, transporting injured victims to nearby hospitals. CHP continues to investigate the circumstances of the deadly collision.
