Union County, OR (January 1, 2025) – A tragic multi-vehicle accident on Interstate 84 claimed the lives of Robert Fred Kenyon, 60, of Nampa, and Steven Bradley Botter, 47, of Spokane, on Wednesday night. The Oregon State Police reported the collision occurred around 10:26 p.m.
Kenyon, operating a Mack commercial vehicle and trailer, had stopped in the chain-up area to install tire chains due to adverse roadway conditions. Meanwhile, Botter, driving a westbound Freightliner commercial vehicle, veered off the road for unknown reasons and collided with Kenyon’s parked truck.
A second westbound Freightliner, driven by 28-year-old Sing Manvir of Fresno, struck the vehicles involved in the initial collision as they entered the roadway. Kenyon and Botter were pronounced dead at the scene, while Manvir was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The roadway remained closed for approximately ten hours as authorities conducted an on-scene investigation. Further details about the crash are under review as the investigation continues.
