A stolen trailer pursuit ended dramatically when a suspect drove off the freeway and onto train tracks in Riverside on March 11, 2025, at approximately 1:30 p.m.
According to Lt. Deidre Vickers of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Perris Sheriff’s Station deputies first spotted the stolen trailer at Lukens Lane and Weston Road in Good Hope. When deputies attempted a traffic stop, the suspect refused to yield, leading to a pursuit.
The chase ended when the suspect drove the pickup truck and attached trailer the wrong way down an on-ramp on the 215 Freeway at Alessandro Boulevard, crashing off the side and onto railroad tracks. The suspect fled on foot but was eventually taken into custody near Motorfair Drive.
Metro workers at the scene confirmed that the truck came down the on-ramp the wrong way before crashing onto the tracks.
