June 1, 2025 – San Diego, CA — A male pedestrian was left with life-threatening injuries early Sunday morning after being struck by a car in a hit-and-run collision in the southeastern San Diego neighborhood of Mountain View.According to the San Diego Police Department, the incident occurred at approximately 4:55 a.m. at the intersection of South 47th Street and T Avenue. The victim was crossing the street when he was struck by a black Mercedes sedan traveling through the intersection. Authorities said the female driver of the Mercedes failed to stop and fled the scene, leaving the man critically injured in the roadway. A Good Samaritan who witnessed the crash immediately came to the victim’s aid and was able to provide police with a description of the suspect vehicle and driver. Emergency responders transported the pedestrian to a nearby hospital with major injuries that have been classified as life-threatening. His current condition has not been updated. Due to the severity of the crash and ongoing investigation, South 47th Street was closed between Ocean View Boulevard and Logan Avenue.
