Fresno, CA (January 6, 2025) – Michelle Lawrence, 28, of Fresno, tragically lost her life in a head-on collision near Selma on Saturday night. The crash occurred at approximately 8:30 p.m. at the intersection of Floral and Willow Avenues.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Saul Galvez Diaz, 24, was driving eastbound on Floral Avenue when he crossed the center line, colliding head-on with a westbound Nissan. Lawrence, a front passenger in Diaz’s vehicle, was transported to a local hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.
A nine-year-old girl in the rear passenger seat suffered major injuries and was also hospitalized. Diaz sustained moderate injuries and was determined to be under the influence of alcohol. Authorities plan to arrest him on suspicion of DUI following his release from the hospital.
The Nissan’s driver and front passenger were hospitalized with moderate injuries.
