Man Shot and Killed Just Outside Long Beach Grand Prix

Long Beach, CA, April 12, 2025  – A tragic shooting unfolded just 500 feet from the active GT America race at the Long Beach Grand Prix on Saturday afternoon, April 12, 2025, at approximately 5:51 p.m. A man was shot multiple times and later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. The shooting occurred on Seaside Drive near Aquarium Way, just west of the racing circuit. Long Beach Police, assisted by FBI agents and US Customs agents who were already on hand for event security, responded to the scene. Upon arrival, officers found the victim lying unresponsive on the ramp from Seaside Way toward Pacific Avenue and the Walk of 1000 Lights. Social media videos showed the man bloodied and unresponsive. Paramedics from the Long Beach Fire Department quickly transported the victim to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The incident has been confirmed as a homicide, and homicide investigators are on the case. Police have not yet disclosed the identity of the victim.
