San Bernardino, CA , May 23, 2025– A late-night police pursuit involving armed carjacking suspects came to a dramatic end on Friday, May 23, 2025, near West 48th Street and Creekside Drive in San Bernardino, when four juvenile suspects attempted to flee on foot. The pursuit began when San Bernardino Police and California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers attempted to stop a vehicle linked to an armed carjacking. Around 10:50 p.m., the suspects abandoned the car and fled into a flood control channel. A CHP K9 unit was deployed and successfully apprehended one of the fleeing suspects. The remaining three juveniles were also taken into custody nearby. While unoccupied, the suspect vehicle continued westbound on 48th Street, entering oncoming lanes before a CHP officer was able to bring it to a stop using their patrol vehicle. Inside the vehicle, officers discovered multiple firearms, including an AR-style pistol and at least one drum magazine.
