Los Angeles, CA – A 46-year-old man, identified as Juan Amaya, was killed in a hit-and-run crash early Friday morning near the Glendale Junction, just west of Lincoln Heights.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), the fatal collision occurred at approximately 12:30 a.m. at the intersection of Avenue 19 and Humboldt Street.
Witnesses reported that Amaya was crossing Avenue 19 when an unidentified vehicle struck him. Instead of stopping to render aid, the driver fled the scene.
Emergency responders arrived, but Amaya succumbed to his injuries due to the traumatic impact of the crash, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed.
