Valley SWAT was activated for the standoff, which lasted several hours.At 2:36 PM, fire crews and medic teams were dispatched to the scene due to a commercial fire. It is believed that the suspect set the fire while still inside the building. Due to the dangerous conditions, fire crews were told to stage and not engage initially.The situation escalated to a second alarm as the fire spread and it was feared that no one could survive the intense flames. Once authorities were certain that the suspect was deceased, efforts to battle the fire offensively began. Other businesses in the building were also affected by the fire.By 5:30 PM, authorities confirmed that the suspect’s body had not yet been located, but it was believed that they perished in the fire.
