Doorman Fatally Shot Outside Latina’s Bar in Houston

Houston, TX – A deadly shooting early Sunday morning outside Latina’s Bar on Telephone Road left one man dead and another injured, according to Houston Police.

The incident occurred around 1:41 a.m. in the 4900 block of Telephone Road. Officers responded to reports of a shooting involving a nightclub employee and a patron.

Preliminary investigation revealed that a confrontation broke out between a male patron and the doorman working at the entrance of Latina’s Bar. Witnesses stated the patron stepped back during the dispute, retrieved a firearm, and opened fire on the doorman.

The victim, whose identity has not been publicly released, was pronounced dead at the scene by Houston Fire Department medics.

A second man, who was standing nearby during the altercation, was struck in the leg by a stray bullet. He was treated at the scene and transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect is described as a young Hispanic male in his early 20s with a short buzzcut. He fled the scene heading north on Telephone Road. Authorities are actively searching for the suspect and reviewing surveillance footage in the area.
