Hemet, CA – August 18, 2025 – A tragic three-vehicle collision on Warren Road near Poplar Street claimed the life of a woman and left another person hospitalized Monday morning, according to the Hemet Police Department. The crash occurred around 6:03 a.m. when a silver Chevrolet Colorado pickup traveling northbound drifted into the southbound lanes and sideswiped a southbound blue Chevrolet Cruze. The impact caused the Cruze to spin into the northbound lanes, where it was struck on the passenger side by a silver Toyota Tundra traveling northbound. The driver of the Chevrolet Cruze, identified as Esther Elizalde, was pronounced dead at the scene. The second individual involved was transported to a local hospital with injuries.

The crash occurred around 6:03 p.m. in the 28000 block of Warren Road near Poplar Street. Emergency responders arrived promptly; Elizalde was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other injured person was transported to a local hospital. CHP continues to investigate the cause of the collision.
