San Diego, CA – August 17, 2025 – A two-vehicle collision early Saturday morning on Carmel Valley Road left two people hospitalized, including a 19-year-old man with life-threatening injuries, according to the San Diego Police Department.The crash occurred around 12:19 a.m. in the 15000 block of Carmel Valley Road near Black Mountain Road. Authorities reported that the 19-year-old driver of a Honda Civic was traveling eastbound at a high rate of speed when he veered onto the south sidewalk, lost control, crossed the eastbound lanes, and struck a tree. The vehicle then entered the westbound lanes and collided with a Honda Accord driven by an 18-year-old man.
