A serious incident unfolded on January 6, 2024, in Harris County—near East Wallisville and Haney Roads—when an off-duty deputy constable in a private vehicle equipped with emergency lights attempted to stop a dirt-bike rider. The rider lost control, crashed into a trailer, and was critically injured. Despite being airlifted to a hospital, he was pronounced dead soon after . While that crash resulted in a fatality, other recent incidents in Houston also highlight the unpredictability and danger of dirt-bike collisions.
