Jamul, CA – A male driver was killed early Sunday morning after the vehicle he was driving plunged off a cliff into a small ravine along Skyline Truck Trail, south of Castle Peak Lane.According to first responders, the Toyota Highlander left the roadway and flew off a cliff at approximately 2:26 a.m. on April 12, 2025. Firefighters arrived at the scene and made their way down to the ravine, where they found the driver ejected from the vehicle and in critical condition.The victim was rushed to Sharp Memorial Hospital in CPR status, but despite efforts to revive him, he was later pronounced deceased. Authorities have indicated that speed was likely a factor in the crash, though it remains unclear whether driving under the influence (DUI) was involved.The California Highway Patrol (CHP) is currently investigating the incident, and further details about the cause of the crash have yet to be released
